  • After two races things will become clear. - whether rule change have been adequately anticipated, or - driver need to adapt to different driving style, that some can and will annoy others, depending on margin of error On rule change adaptations, their should not be a rigid budget limit, as one does not want unsafe situations caused by drivers having to adopt too much of a new driving style, that feels unfamiliar. All translates into and contributes to increased tyre wear / degradations. So this will have been the main focus at MB, thus long runs. Race input is required. Practice does not involve the kind of tense situations as during wheel to wheel racing, and every mistake has serious consequences. Why one can never count out MB is, their massive data while leading races, on fuel consumption and potential changes in parameters. Coming from behind data provide less to play with, as one does not know how the MB's could reduce trottle. Verstappen's performances say nothing about fuel consumption, under race conditions. But his packages are definitively closer to their sweet spot, than MB. But with a few minor floor airflow changes, they may then get much further ahead, compared to the season start, should there have been issues. Gearbox issues may well indicate more advanced technology, to gain from somehow. But then also a related system not yet in sync with that evolution. This also indicates, one is to expect MB geared to widen the gap of previous years. If there is any sort of chance for other teams than MB, to win titles, it must be fone this year

  • I really think MB is still bigtime Favourites with RB closing in, maybe just in the beginning slightly closer then MB wants. Although I also think the top-end of the midfield might get closer to the top2 then RB and MB might like and might interfere with them in some races.

  • Mercedes are and have been that far in front (by light years) in recent years, if it's true the Mercs are struggling, we may see a closer championship. But I say may, because I think Mercedes will adjust and find a fix and will win the constructors title in the end.

  • Yeah. Definitely the team who has won seven constructor titles in a row is struggling. The car that won with almost twice the points (573 points - 319 points) to Red Bull and is carried over from last year with minimum changes is now really bad. Give me a break. Without knowing the sport, purely statistically there is little to no chance for anybody else winning the constructors title. Mercedes is killing the sport. It is obvious and non of the commentators are allowed to speak about it openly.

  • i think mercedes testing looked worse as it was only 3 days. in 2020 they had engine issues which left lewis out for like half a day but people forgot about it becuase they did so much running after. If there was 6 days in the test then mercedes couldve done loads of milage after those 3 days and everyone would've said they had a good test.

I reckon Ferrari will have a stronger season with more highs. F1.5 will be so tight and circuit dependent on who does better. Maybe closer to the F1.5 front. • Don’t understand the adaptability against regulation argument. Vettel has won in V8 complex aero, V8 simple aero, double diffuser and no double diffuser, blown diffuser and no blown diffuser, V6 hybrid narrow car, V6 hybrid wide car and V6 hybrid wide car with simple front wings. That doesn’t look like a regulation issue to me.

Hence they struggled. But that doesn't put them in struggling mode as it looks like. They can just tone down the settings and get back the real power as last year.

Keep him in AT for a couple years let him grow, maybe pair him with Albon next year should Gasly take they expected move to Alpine(if not higher considering form/potential) But move him too soon and we'll lose a talent too soon.

Both times these adversairiuies were sending Red Bull into the clouds - BUT hopefully this year Max can put the W-Champ-Courona on his hard work.

  • I don’t think Merc have set up issues, it look like they’ve got an aero stall problem at the back of the car. The team have admitted that there is an aerodynamic problem with the car, and I think it’s the diffuser is stalling on traction.
